For my job, I was asked to compile a benchmark report on developments within the field of interaction design related to sustainability.

Immediately and unsurprisingly, I confirmed that the topic is complex and convoluted, immersed within larger social, environmental, political, and cultural contexts. There is almost unanimous agreement that there has to be a response to the problems we face today, but the problems we face are multi-disciplinary and must be addressed on all scales; from individuals to communities to greater interconnected systems (ecologies).

Thus, I started this blog in order to keep my notes and findings organized, to structure my thoughts, and to motivate me to get things down on "paper".

As a designer, I am curious explore where can I fit inside this picture, and I would like to extrapolate a personal attitude/stance towards these issues. I hope this is just the first of many more posts to come.
